Wraps and coffee on Dingwall Road, a new barber on St George's Walk, closure of Maidin and Victoria Island

Openings

A new takeaway called Roosters Spot has opened at 76 High Street, offering chicken, burgers, pizzas, and ribs.

Zabardast, a sandwich shop specialising in wraps, has opened at 1 Dingwall Road. Bread choices include paratha and tortilla, while fillings include desi omelette and lamb kofta.

A barbers and hairdressers called Shear & Shine has opened at 17 St George's Walk. It also offers sports/therapeutic massage.

Closures

Maidin Chinese Bakery in the Whitgift Centre has closed, though it continues to trade from its main bakery in the Wing Yip Centre on Purley Way.

Victoria Island at 28-30 St George's Walk and Supreme Motor Spares at 77a Station Road have also closed.

Coming soon

2-3 Dingwall Road is under refurbishment to open as a “coffee and juice shop” called Smoothbean, offering “artisan coffee, ethically sourced tea, freshly made juices and smoothies, delicious savoury food [...and...] cakes and snacks.”

Other news

Sahi Food & Wine at 3 Derby Road is now known as Niazi Food & Wine, and Computer Repairs Croydon at 9 Derby Road is now known as Croydon Repair Centre — however, both businesses remain much the same as before the name changes.
