During the first half of the 20th century, the site was occupied by a cinema variously called the Orpheum, the Cinema Royal, and the Palladium; see Cinema Treasures entry for more details and a photo. The Palladium closed in August 1956 and the building was demolished in October of the same year. Surrey House was later built on the site.

Existence last checked in March 2017.
