Closure of Big Mamma and Passion, but new businesses on Surrey Street and St George's Walk
Friends Hair & Beauty at 37 Surrey Street is now open.
54 Surrey Street (previously New Vintage) has the colours of the Italian flag painted on the shutter and a notice outside saying it's being refurbished by a company called Catersales, suggesting that the new occupant will be some kind of Italian food-related business.
6 St George's Walk (previously Sparkle PR) is being refurbished ready to open as a photograph studio called H Spring Photography.
Croydon Council's pop-up shop at 81 Church Street will be moving to larger premises across the road at numbers 86-88 (previously Dreams bed shop).
When we walked past a couple of weeks ago, the interior of R & R's/Chilli Corner at 63-65 High Street looked somewhat empty; however, we're not sure if this signals permanent closure or a temporary closure for refurbishment/cleanup.
Finally, Big Mamma at 83 Church Street remains closed after a serious fire last month. Passion at 34a North End has also closed, just a couple of months after first opening.
