New openings on the High Street, no more Pret on North End, and real ale coming to Church Street soon

Openings

A new club called Club 88° has opened at 84 High Street (under the flyover).

Just across the road from there, a new casual restaurant (burgers, chicken, ice cream, etc) called Everyday’s has opened at 87–89 High Street.

Cash and Carry Beds at 1 Derby Road has opened a new branch at 175 London Road.

Closures

The Pret A Manger branch at 125 North End has closed. Its branch at 93a George Street remains open for those who believe no sandwich is complete without rocket.

UK Monster Deals at 81 Church Street has also closed.

Coming soon

The Wine Cellar in Sanderstead are soon to open another branch, possibly called Fresh Fields Market, at 86–88 Church Street (previously the Croydon Pop-Up Emporium).

Other news

Angelo’s barber shop at 81 High Street has moved around the corner to 1 Robert Street.

Finally, the Croydon Advertiser reports that the Croydon Visitor Centre at 1–3 Station Approach is due to close for good on 1 May. A petition has been launched to protest against this closure.
