In October 2012, a [http://publicaccess.croydon.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=details&keyVal=_CROYD_DCAPR_133202 planning application] was granted for use of the premises as a restaurant/cafe. The [http://planning.croydon.gov.uk/DocOnline/109772_1.pdf design and access statement] (PDF) submitted as part of the planning application states that the actual occupant of the premises has not been decided, but the applicant is "in negotiations with a couple of well established fast food restaurants/takeaway franchises to sub let the unit".
As of September 2012, there's a planning application in [https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/7916376878/ photo] for use of the premises as a restaurant/cafe, and the shop has "closing down" signs in the windows.
