As of October 2012, there's refurb work going on inside and it seems to be about to reopen, possibly as something called Megamart (see advertising display in window).
According to a photo on Flickr, as of December 1990 the premises were occupied by a "discount walk around store" called Gifts Galore.
At other some point in its past, it was a branch of HMV photo. Croydon still has an HMV, but it's now further down North End in the Centrale shopping centre.
