It was [http://web.archive.org/web/20180301141139/http://www.costar.co.uk/en/assets/news/2013/February/Morrisons-swoops-for-Jessops-jewels/ bought by Morrisons] in February 2013, and according to the Croydon Advertiser (webpage now deleted) was planned to open as an "M Local" store. As of November 2013 work had started on the site <small>[https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/10802243316/ photo]</small>, and signs went up a little later stating that it was due to open at 9am on Monday 9 December 2013 <small>[https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/11248385665/ photo of sign]</small>. It was definitely open by the end of December that year <small>[https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/11248485593/ photo]</small>, but closed again some time between August 2014 and July 2015.

The premises were vacant as of July 2015, October 2015 <small>[https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/22576020075/ photo]</small>, December 2015, May 2016, January 2017, and March 2017.

Around June or July 2017, a hire-purchase furniture shop called Bright House (pictured) moved here from its previous location at [[Bright House (MOVED), 145-147 North End|145-147 North End]]. This was still in place in December 2019.
